Cumulative delta indicator for orderflow traders
Welcome back to Tradevietstock. This Cumulative Delta indicator for orderflow traders helps identify the daily market trend, allowing you to catch high-probability moves with greater confidence. It is best suited for day trading and scalping, especially when combined with Order Flow or AMT strategies. Unlike the other CVD v2 version, this indicator supports backtesting, making it easier to evaluate and refine your strategy.

I. Overall Trend & Session Structure
1. Overall Trend Identification
Cumulative Delta indicator (CVD) is a powerful tool for identifying the market’s overall daily direction. When the CVD rises and breaks above the previous daily high, it reflects strong bullish momentum and aggressive buying pressure. On the other hand, if the CVD fails to maintain strength or begins to reverse, it may indicate weakening momentum or a potential bearish shift.
To make these broader market trends easier to recognize, Moving Average (MA) lines are integrated directly into the CVD indicator, helping traders quickly visualize trend direction and momentum changes.
2. Session Structure Analysis
Beyond identifying the daily trend, Cumulative Delta can also be used to analyze the structural behavior of the market within specific trading sessions.
For example, when trading the DAX40 during the London session, observing whether the CVD develops a bullish, bearish, or consolidating structure provides valuable market context. Understanding this session behavior allows traders to better adapt their strategies, align with current order flow conditions, and make more informed trading decisions throughout the day.

3. Handling Consolidation
If the Cumulative Delta becomes choppy and keeps breaking both the daily highs and lows, the market is likely consolidating. Recognizing this early helps you adapt quickly—either switch from trend-following to range-bound strategies or stay out until clearer direction returns.

II. Personal Customization
1. CVD Timeframe:
Customize the calculation timeframe to match your trading style. The default setting uses 1-minute data for maximum precision, but you can freely adjust it to any timeframe you prefer.
2. Volatility Detection (Optional):
Fine-tune the volatility settings to better filter sudden market spikes, or simply leave the default values unchanged.
Note: The Cumulative Delta Indicator does not guarantee profitability and should be used as an additional layer of market data and confirmation. Backtesting is strongly recommended to improve your strategy and execution. It works especially well when combined with Auction Market Theory (AMT) or Order Flow concepts. Good luck!
This script is best for every trader, from orderflow, AMT, ICT, scalpers to swing traders. You can apply it right into your daily trades for accuracy.
